I know Hugh Hefner has one of these. He has good taste in most things except women as far as I can tell, so that’s not a bad thing. It the achingly beautiful Chevrolet Corvette, circa 1958, and it is fantastic.
Unfortunately I was only able to snap one pic of the black beauty before the look the owner was giving me started making me uncomfortable. Honestly mate, you’ve got an iconic 50 year old car and your missus was just as attractive. How can you not be used to the cellphone paparazzi by now?
This particular model was built between 1958 and 1962. It either had a 4.6 litre (283cu) or, if it was a ’62, a bigger 5.2 litre (327cu) would have been under that infinitely long bonnet. A healthy 280kW of power would have been available, which means this thing was probably pretty hairy.
I know there’s a red one of these for sale at Motostars, and it has a DO NOT TOUCH sign on the bonnet. Must be pricey then.
