Top Gear Festival South Africa 2012 – Everything You Need To Know

By
Updated: February 22, 2012

Good news! The horrendous highveld rains has not deterred the British and they will be back in SA for Top Gear Festival 2012. Although they have changed the venue slightly – Durban will be the host city. Which is great news for me, I haven’t been there in ages.

The iconic Moses Mabida Stadium will host Top Gear Live’s first ever stadium performance, to their single biggest crowd ever. A street circuit will be created around the streets of Durban and the People’s Park and Stadium Precinct will be packed with show cars and displays from across the motoring spectrum. I’m so excited I’m starting to sound like a press release, so let’s just leave them to it.

I have all the details here, just click below. There we go.

“We travel all over the world with Top Gear Live events and, wherever we are, we always say the audiences are amazing. But South Africa is different because when we say it there, we really mean it. That’s why I can’t wait to share our Top Gear Festival with the friendliest, most enthusiastic people on the planet”. – Jeremy Clarkson

Hey Jean, I doubt there will be a photo opportunity, sorry about that. Unless you’re media accredited but even then its hard to get photos with all of the presenters.

Why only Durbs? Not to be rude, but SA is massive and the only way to see them was at JHB for me and the girl. Would be a great weekend to go… Thanx for bringing it to SA.

Sorry about that Dirk. For the last few years I’ve been saying, Why only Joburg! I suppose its best to just turn it into a holiday if you can.

We are currently still in Mozambique. Would definitely have loved to see the show but unfortunately we will not be able to make it. What I would like, is to get in contact with any of the presenters of Topgear, because I have discovered a 1966 Honda Coupe S600, of which I cannot get any information anywhere on the Internet.
